Saffron Aid Micro Scholarships
In the developing world the single most important factor in increasing educational outcomes is the amount of time that children are able to spend in school. In low socio-economic communities many children are taken from school to work on farms, in shops and in factories so they can contribute to the family income.
Saffron Aid has been working since 2014 with school leaders, monks and community elders to identify children most at risk of not attending school. A contribution of AU$40 provides one student with pencils, writing books, sandals (some regions even a school uniform) removing the burden of schooling costs from the family. Local schools are provided with the necessities for the child to attend and to learn effectively throughout the school year.
